Lean does not work without psychological safety
Most Lean transformations fail. Not because of tools. But because problems are not truly exposed.
Lean is built on making problems visible.
In reality, the opposite often happens:
In many organizations, the same pattern occurs:
- problems are avoided
- tensions remain below the surface
- verbeteringen worden slechts gedeeltelijk doorgevoerd
Not because people are unwilling.
But because it does not feel safe enough.
Lean depends on making problems visible.
But that requires something else:
people must feel safe enough to speak up.
Without that safety, Lean becomes a ritual.
Not a performance system.

- in leadership, where both direction and safety are created
This is not an addition to Lean.
And not a leadership program alongside Lean.
It is a redesign of Lean in practice.
Not more tools.
